New Games from this week and last week!
In New York Slice, each player slices pizzas into portions, giving their opponents first choice, while they take the leftovers. There are a dozen kinds of pizza to work with, from veggie to hawaiian to meat lover’s, and each player decides if they want to eat or keep some of the slices, building the best collection of pizzas possible!
Each time a player slices a pizza, there’s a different special to go along with it, whether it’s allocated to one of the portions or placed on its own. Specials provide the player with special powers or points, such as calling dibs on a slice before the pizza is divided, getting one of the normally-out-of-the-game “mystery slices’, having an opportunity to “sneak a slice” by moving it from one portion to another when they choose, and many more—there are 14 different “Today’s Specials” in the game.
Commissioned is a 2-6 player cooperative-style board game with a simple deck-building mechanism that plays in 1 hour. Players are the early Christian Apostles and must work together to mature their faith decks, grow the church, collect the books of the New Testament, and overcome persecution. You do not need to know anything about Christianity to play. The game includes five scenarios that cover the first 150 years of church history, two difficulty levels, and a one-vs-all variation.

In Troyes, recreate four centuries of history of this famous city of the Champagne region of France. Each player manages their segment of the population (represented by a horde of dice) and their hand of cards, which represent the three primary domains of the city: religious, military, and civil. Players can also offer cash to their opponents’ populace in order to get a little moonlighting out of them—anything for more fame!

In The Ladies of Troyes, the women make an appearance in the form of three new Character cards that you can include in your games. A new action allows players to move their guard along the ramparts in order to access one of 16 new activities outside the city. Each player is represented by a new purple die (representing the head of the family), which cannot be bought by other players. The head of the family can carry out civil, military, or religious actions — your choice!

Each night, it steals another scout; each day, the other players can check the identity of a scout on the table. If they unmask the Wendigo before it’s too late, they win the game. Otherwise, the Wendigo player wins!

Each time the creature a player is afraid of appears, he must shout. The goal of the game is to be the first to find out what the other players are afraid of.
The game can also be played with an app generating a random animation with creatures moving through the screen.
